  • Pound the Pavement - Look for opportunities to walk.
  • Inconvenience Yourself:
    • Cook Dinner
    • Take the Stairs
    • Use a Suitcase Without Wheels(strength workout)
  • Squeeze in a Super Short Workout: high-intensity interval training. The 7 Minute Workout or 3×3 Workout-pushup, squat, lifts each in one minute with one minute breaks in between.

Eat Real Food:

  • Eat Like a Hunter-Gatherer : Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
  • Central Park Your Plate - Put salad on your plate first in center and surround it with other food on sides.
  • Stay Hungry or Snack Like a Toddler (see what works for your brain to focus).
  • Go on the Dark Chocolate Plan- less sugar.

Optimize Caffeine:

  • Wake Up Before You Caffeinate - Cortisol, hormone that helps you wake up is already high when you wake up. Caffeinate later.
  • Caffeinate Before You Crash
  • Take a Caffeine Nap - Nap immediately after consuming caffeine, takes time for caffeine to kick in.
  • Maintain Altitude with Green Tea - Steady energy level unlike coffee.
  • Turbo Your Highlight - Caffeinate for your Highlight.
  • Learn Your Last Call - Know when you can have your last cup of coffee for the day, so that caffeine doesn't keep you awake at night.
  • Disconnect Sugar

Go Off the Grid:

  • Get Woodsy - nature
  • Trick Yourself into Meditating- headspace app
  • Leave Your Headphones at Home - Quiet and recharge.
  • Take Real Breaks - No screens.

Make It Personal:

  • Spend Time with Your Tribe
  • Eat Without Screens

Sleep in a Cave:

  • Make Your Bedroom a Bed Room
  • Fake the Sunset - Gradually dim and switch off the lights for sleep time.
  • Sneak a Nap
  • Don’t Jet-Lag Yourself - Don't try to compensate sleep on weekends - messes with schedule.
  • Put On Your Own Oxygen Mask First - Take care of yourself to be able to take care of others.

Reflect:

  • Observe,guess,experiment and measure.
  • Take Notes to Track Your Results (and Keep You Honest)
  • Small Shifts Create Big Results - Gradual and small changes.

Start "someday" today.
Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Review:

For someone who reads Quora a lot, the tips mentioned in this book are quite familiar. But nevertheless, it's a good summary of all the tips you would need to find and make time in your life. The strategies discussed in the book are not something new - deep work on the few most important tasks, keeping the energy levels stable, reviewing at the end of the day, batching other insignificant tasks, etc. But the book does a good job of driving the point home.
